Enter the world of elementary robotics! These five half-days of Junior Robotics geared towards
basic circuitry, mechanical science and robot building. Campers get a
chance to design their own robots, learn about the parts inside a robot,
and experiment with real robots! Develop building
skills and put your imagination to the test! Each camper will work daily
on a robot and take it home at the end of the week!!
Each camper will build and take home their own robots (pictured above) at the end of the week!
OWI's EM4 Educational Motorized Robot is an easy to assemble robotic playmate that runs on one AA battery, and your child's imagination! It is versatile, for non-stop fun with four exciting modes: Cricket, Beast, Trailer, and Robot.
Robotics 101 - Day 1 Start your little one's robotics career with hands on experience with a real life robot! Campers will learn and see the difference between fake and real robots. Each camper will begin their week-long robot build!
Robot Anatomy - Day 2 What
are all these parts?! Explore the “nuts and bolts” of basic Robot
Anatomy. Take a close up look at robots with different machinery.
Campers will do hands on building activities and play a game based on
sensor communication. Putting a robot together is hard work!
Mechanical Mania - Day 3 Campers will gear up for
the mechanics of robotics! Check out the mechanics of gears and the
machinery required to do work. The main focus in robot building this day
will be completing the gear boxes.
Robot Energy - Day 4 ALL
robots use energy to do work – we will explore different sources of
energy. Campers will learn about solar, chemical and electrical energy.
Experiment using a solar robot and a fuel cell robot! Check out these Shocking examples of electricity and introduce the power source into your robot.
Robotics Laboratory - Day 5 Break
out the Labcoats for these little Mad Scientists! Our mechanical
laboratory will have sample robots of all shapes and sizes! Test the
samples and take home your finished robot!
