FAQ
Can I sign my child up for more than one Mad Science camp?
Yes, in fact, we encourage it. Each STEM program is completely different, so your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities!
+Will all summer camp sessions run?
There is a minimum number of campers necessary to hold a camp (generally 10 campers). If that number of registrations is not reached, and we decide to cancel the camp, we will give at least a week's notice and offer an alternative camp or a full refund.
+What are your half-day camp hours?
Our half-day camps are 3 hours long and run from 9:00AM to 12:00PM, or 1:00PM to 4:00PM (for certain locations, the afternoon session may run from 12:30PM to 3:30PM).
+What is the camper to instructor ratio?
Our camper to instructor ratio will never be greater than 10 to 1. In general, the average-size camp is about 20 children with 2 instructors.
+Who are the Mad Science camp instructors?
They could be teachers on summer break, or college students pursuing an education or science degree. All of our instructors have experience working with large groups of children, have undergone background checks, and have received extensive summer camp specific training. One shared characteristic is that they all love working with children!
+Do you provide a snack?
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE A "NUT-FREE" CAMP. Due to food allergies concerns, we do not provide a snack. We have a short break at all locations and always have drinking water available. We encourage you to send a nut-free snack with your child. (NO OUTSIDE FOOD allowed at Kosher facilities-We will provide a suitable snack at those locations)
+Do you have early or late care?
Mad Science does not offer any extended care options at this time. Campers should arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before the camp start time. An authorized parent or guardian must be at the camp site to assume responsibility for your child at the stated end time of camp.
+What ages are your science camps for?
In general, our STEM summer camps are suitable for children entering grades 1 to 6. However, each science camp theme has specific grade requirements so children have the best experience. Again, grade requirements are "entering grades" as of September.
